Biography of Pedro López Salas (Albacete, 1997)

Born in 1997, Pedro is a Spanish pianist who is currently studying an Artist Diploma with Prof. Vanessa Latarche at the “Royal College of Music” of London (RCM). Previously, he finished his Masters of Performance also at the RCM with Prof. Norma Fisher, receiveng First Class Honours. He was awarded with full scholarship and the title of “Steinway Scholar” and the “Leverhulme Honorary Arts Scholarships”. He is a “Keyboard Trust” artist, as well as a “Talent Unlimited” artist, both from the UK.

He has been awarded with more than 40 prizes at International and National piano competitions, among them:

– First Prize at the “Composers of Spain” CIPCE International Piano Competition of Las Rozas, Madrid (Spain). – (WFIM Member)

– Second Prize at the “International Paderewski Piano Competition” of Bydgoszcz (Poland), as well as four special prizes, including the best semifinal recital. – (WFIMC Member)

– First Prize at the Malta International Piano Competition (Malta).
– Second Prize and four special Prizes at the Ferrol International Piano Competition (Spain). – First Prize “Joan Chissell” Schumann Prize of the RCM of London (UK).
– First Prize at the “César Franck” International Piano Competition of Bruxelles (Belgium).

He has also received crucial inspiration from internationally renowned masters such as Dmitri Baskirov, Dmitri Alexeev, Alexander Kobrin, Pavel Nerssesian, Pascal Nemirovsky, Pavel Gililov, and previously he studied under the direction of Mariana Gurkova, Leonel Morales and Ludmil Angelov.

He has performed throughout Europe in prestigious concert halls, such as the “Lutoslawski Concert Hall” of the Polish Radio in Warsaw (Poland), “Pomeranian Philharmonic Concert Hall” of Bydgoszcz (Poland), “TivoliVredenburg” of Utrecht (Amsterdam, Netherlands), as part of the “Piano Winners Festival” of the Liszt Utrecht competition, “Wiener Festsaal” of Wien (Austria), “Palau de la Música” of Valencia, “Teatro de la Maestranza” of Seville, “Miguel Delibes” Concert Hall of Valladolid, Ferrol Concert Hall, “Manuel de Falla” of Granada, “Teatro Circo” of Albacete (Spain), Theater of Aachen (Germany), “Wiener Saal” of Salzburg (Austria), Ischia “La Mortella” and Milan “Rocca Brivio” (Italy), among many others. He has performed as a soloist with some of the highest quality orchestras such as the OH! Orchestra of Warsaw, performing Mozart 21st concerto in the prestigious festival “Chopin and his Europe”; the “Pomeranian Hall Symphony Orchestra” of Poland. In Spain, with the “Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia”, “Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León”, “Orquesta de Valencia”, “Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla”, etc. He has scheduled several recitals and concerts in Europe for 2024.
